Diana Shinabarger

Diana Shinabarger, age 82 of Buffalo, SD, died Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Spearfish Canyon Healthcare Center.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the HC Memorial REC Center, with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. No visitation. Inurnment will take place at 10:00 am Monday, September 22 at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD.
Diana Lee Derby was born March 24, 1943, in Belle Fourche. She was the daughter of Clinton and Alberta (Blacklidge) Derby. Diana grew up in Harding County. She was united in marriage to Raymond Shinabarger in Deadwood, December 18, 1963. To this union three children were born: Charlotte, Patsy and Warren. Following their marriage, Raymond and Diana continued living in Buffalo. Diana was a devoted mother and a hard worker. For over 20 years she worked as a cook at the Oasis Café’ in Buffalo. She always enjoyed getting to know the customers and staff. Diana also worked as an EMT for Harding County and was a life-member of the Legion Auxiliary Post 147.
Diana was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Buffalo. She was a loving wife and mother, who loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. Together her and Raymond were blessed with 63 years of marriage. She was high spirited, never afraid to share her opinion, and she will be greatly missed by all her family.
Diana is survived by her husband Raymond of Spearfish; daughter, Patsy (Raymond) Dillard of Castroville, TX; son, Warren (Amy Seales) of Rapid City; 9 grandchildren, Ronald, Jonathan, Aleisha, Brent, Brian, Lakrisha, Brittney, Raymond, Warren; 17 great grandchildren, Colton, Conner, Landon, Cade, Addasyn, Petyon, Hubert, Zach, James, Ryker, Winter, Kyzer, Kynzlee, Tay’lee, Tayten, Theo and Niah. She is also survived by her brother, Don (Beth) Derby of Three Forks, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Charlotte Ottmo.
