Leslie Gene Kaitfors
Leslie Gene Kaitfors, known to many as Louie or Les, was born November 5, 1957, in Bowman, North Dakota, the third child of June (Anderson) and Raymond Kaitfors. He passed away peacefully, January 14, 2026, with his brother Mike by his side.
Louie was known for—quick phone calls, familiar sayings and a knack for giving people a hard time that somehow still felt like belonging. He had his own way of doing things, and somehow that became part of the comfort of knowing him. He valued staying connected with neighbors and ALL the family he proudly claimed. He farmed and ranched alongside family members for much of his life. He loved old westerns, usually had a cat nearby, enjoyed bowling and horseshoes, and took real pride in hunting and the mounts on his walls. Louie was unapologetically Louie.
Leslie is survived by brothers Raymond Kaitfors Jr., Jeffery Kaitfors, Michael Kaitfors, and William Emeline; sisters Kristi Jo Corey and Michelle Emeline; 16 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and great-nephews; and NUMEROUS cousins.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ralph Lutheran Church with interment following at the Ralph Lutheran Cemetery in Ralph, SD.
The funeral will be livestreamed and can be viewed on Leslie’s obituary page at klinefuneralchapel.com
